played videogames for years without a problem, had a PS4 for a year and I swear that little beep gets mapped as a pavlovian reaction for being pissed the fuck off. Started more fights than being hungry.

Not on PS4, but PS5 is much louder. They programmed the PS5 so that the startup sounds and music must be played through the TV, even if headphones are plugged in and settings are set to push all audio throigh headphones

The amount of people taking this meme seriously is mind boggling. Literal Reddit behavior.

Oh no you didn’t phrase your meme in the exact format my therapist told me to communicate, you are the asshole and deserve to be divorced.

lemmy users only like memes that make them feel superior to other people.

this one fails on that account, so it must be shamed.

    Sexy time? No thanks

    Movie? No thanks

What do you want to do?

Sit on the porch with you, have a drink and talk, go for a walk, sleep, whatever.

    Why not just ask? Or:

I’m gonna watch Hot Fuzz, do you want to?

OMG you are so hot I want you right now.

Not that it’s someone’s responsibility to know how to ask things, but I think it does help to you know, know your partner. Someone asking “sexy time?” wouldn’t make me want sex, and I might want to watch a movie if I know which one.

Even better - "I’m gonna play Genshin, unless you wanna watch a movie, is there anything you want to watch? "

Like, there are probably a thousand better ways to approach this. Maybe it’s in the delivery not the suggestions.

Guess I’m lucky, my gf and I look at each other and just ask “wanna touch?” And 9/10 times touchy time commences. Literally zero bullshit nuance or mind reading. We have great communication and neither of us dance around what we want. Best relationship I’ve had.

We love sex and do it everyday, and generally do compromise up (if either of us want to we do) but I so love me some nuance, too. Often, approach does matter and it’s nice. “wanna fuck” because I am bored is less likely to land than if I approach my husband physically, I know this. He knows me too, and how to get me started.

Again - I don’t think it’s necessarily a requirement, just good to know how to ask, and to be aware of how your partner is feeling at the moment. Likely better results if you care to.

I have had this exact meme happens to me just yesterday.

Sexy time no, movie no. She went to bed and i turned on pc and she was looking at me exactly like this.

In her defense, she was looking at me like that because I wouldn’t have good sleep if I play more than 30-40 mins, and she would be worried I wouldn’t log off in time and won’t be able to sleep herself till I log off.

Then she should tell me that, ironically, because I’m neurodivergent and can’t read my own mind sometimes, let alone hers.

That’s what “nope” means? I thought it just meant “nope.”

I figure something like “No I just want to cuddle with you and have a nice chat” would be a more descriptive way to say “nope,” maybe we should look into that.

If “she wants to talk to me” then she should use more than one word.

Neurotypicals communicate the “i just want to cuddle” bit through body language and tone. Of course, being neurodivergent, we dont see that. Then they get mad because they cant read our minds, thought they were being clear (because it was to people like them) and assume we’re blowing them off

What we have here is a failure to communicate

That’s not being neurotypical. That’s just having poor communication skills.

Based on the actual women in my life, “blame partner for own communication failures” is the divergence rather than the norm. Regardless of what shallow media portrays.

YMMV. In mine it’s about a 50/50 split, probably edging on the “blame others” side. I do also know guys that expect you to read their minds too though, mostly middle managers, and plenty men and women who can’t take responsibility for any of their faults/actions (which is in essence the same issue, just broadened), it’s not really a gendered issue, it seems like there’s a general accountability problem these days.

I’ve been annoyed since multi-player became a paid service since the ps3, but it’s nice to finally have some validation. Only took 20 years but…

You had to pay to play online on Xbox a decade before that. It was free on PlayStation. When they changed it I just stopped playing online.

Yeah, I had an Xbox for one game (Midtown Madness 3), and played through the trial for live, but never subscribed. I’m not sure if I paid for a month of psn+ during the gta5 launch, but if I did that would have been the only time I’ve put money to play multi-player. Didn’t take the bait for Games for Windows Live garbage either. It would take until the pc release of Halo 3/ODST/Reach/4 for me to play them, even though I badly wanted to play in their prime. Principles and all that. And I was pissed that MS shelved their windows gaming division to milk the Xbox.

No, users were offered 2 (I think?) free games as compensation for the PS3 data breach.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_PlayStation_Network_outage

On May 16, 2011, Sony announced that two PlayStation 3 games and two PSP games would be offered for free from lists of five and four,† respectively.[75][76] The games available varied by region[75][76] and were only available in countries which had access to the PlayStation Store prior to the outage.[76]

I still cannot believe that no one went to jail over that.

I mean I can, corporations are only people when it results in a positive outcome for them, but still. A fucking rootkit.
