  • don’t worry, they will find a way to blame you and feel traumatized, specially now that trauma is a badge of honor.

I have met many 30 somethings who think thier parents ‘traumatized’ them by being good parents to them, or not ‘good enough’. or who are convinced their parents ruined them because their parents gave them too much privilege… who fantasize about like having bad parents as if it would make them a better person… it’s insane and wild.

also had people lecture me on how my parents, who were poor and uneducated, must have been amazing because their wealthy educated parents were awful and made their life too easy, and mine made my life difficult so they were really good parents…

  • more than half it is ragebait.

mostly posted by the same handful of accounts. who are farming for engagement and clicks.

it is best to avoid it, or block the people who post it.

you can’t convince someone who posts ragebait it isn’t ragebait, because they believe it’s legitimate, because in their mental world… well everything is ragebait. and their post history almost always… shows a nothing but ragebait posts and angry hostile comments pushing simplistic narratives where they are the sole force for good in the world.

  • Evidence isn’t what bullies and bigots rely on. It’s their feelings of superiority and their justification of violence.

hence why they will never argue with evidence or facts. They will just insult and harass and threaten.

and if you use the evidence of their own words against them… well get ready to get reported to the mods.

    learning is gay.

making up years of bullshit and conning your entire company into wasting money on it justifies your role as a Very Smart Person

It’s all about incentives. There is no social reward for learning an existing tool that works well. There is a large incentive toward bullshitting a minor inconvenience into a major problem and throwing money at it. especially when it can be ‘measured’ as a metric where the number goes up/down and that’s Good.

And it’s not just corporate. I ran a small volunteer business for years. and this mentality infested it and I quit because I could not tolerate the whiny bullshit from people who wanted to spend $2,000 to ‘solve’ issues rather than just learn shit and not be whiny and entitled. Also the same folks who needed to bring their politics into everything and let you know how ‘good’ and ‘amazing’ they are and if you disagree with them and their whiny stupid ways, you’re a Bad Person. Also, THE NUMBER MUST ALWAYS GO UP OR WE ARE FAILING. In our case it was ‘persons helped’, we have to help more people or we a FAILURES. Can’t have a sustained reliable operation… nope. In our case nitwits were arguing that we were ‘oppressing’ people if we weren’t helping more of them… because THROUGHPUT is all that matters. Regardless of quality…

Group dynamics benefit stupid and manipulative people the most, hence why they so adamantly reinforce and push the stupid and manipulative stuff. And drive away independent and productive people who just want to get shit done, because those people are a threat to the whiny, lazy, entitled people. You will make them look bad.

Because why do work when you can bitch and whine about doing work shouldn’t be necessary?

also we need team building exercises!!! and if you Just Do Your Job, you are also a bad person!!!

  • it doesn’t matter if you do that, if they don’t.

this is like the classic ‘just tell them’ reply to relationship issues… what people forget is that people don’t listen. and if you tell them, they don’t listen, well then you’re going no where. it also assumes people aren’t trying to win, when often, they are. some folks regard communication, understanding, and compromise, as themselves losing.

it requires two parties standing on the same ground and working from the same place, which is rare to find.

  • i think that’s true in large social media spaces, but not so much in smaller focused forums.

but since the latter doesn’t really exist anymore, it is kind of irrelevant.

People mostly respond to your presentation and how it makes them feel, not the content of what you are saying. Hence why most people objecting to you won’t even object to what you say, they will object to their interpretation of what you said and how it made them feel.

    I think you’re wrong there.

Some people, do it for themselves, for sure.

Other people, would never do it if it not were the approval of others.

And many people are lying about doing it for themselves because they don’t want to appear to be approval-seeking, especially if that is why they do it.

The easiest way to figure it out is to see how they behave around others vs not around others. Many folks, are two-faced in public vs private. And some folks, are not.

Can’t tell you how many friends/girlfriends I have had who say one thing in public, and another to me in private, and they are polar opposite. Let, usually on political stuff mostly. Because they know going with the popular opinion will get them points and they don’t want to cause social friction. Also why they celebrate rather than call out their friends shitty behaviors…

and frankly you can’t really blame them. because if you do stand up for things you believe in and they are not part of the group consensus, you’ll be ostracized. especially by the other folks who are posing who are desperately afraid of being ‘exposed’.

group social cohesion requires going along with/approving of the group belief, even if it’s wrong or stupid. hence why people get conned into believing crazy nonsense, their need for social approval overrrides everything else.

and some honest folks do admit, they only do shit for approval, or karma, or internet likes and they would not longer doing the thing they enjoy if they didn’t score any points from it. like I’ve met people in my hobbies who straight up admit they wouldn’t bother doing the hobby if they couldn’t get anonymous internet people to like them for it, who also get very mad if their post doesn’t get enough likes.
