  • The Avengers: Retcon isn’t interesting to you? Undoing the sacrifices and earned deaths/retirements of beloved characters to bring them back in a desperate attempt to sell tickets isn’t good storytelling you you? Bringing in a bunch of unknown randos and treating them like they’ve been part of the team since the beginning doesn’t sound like a good movie? Giving them a massive cast with absolutely no room for character development doesn’t seem like a good time??

I was vaguely interested in the X-men finally showing up. It looks like most of the action is going to be the generalized, plotless action of the more recent movies.

  • I mean, evidence shows that having their ideas challenged online tends to entrench people in their ideas more so than it convinces them that they’re wrong.

So, while I sympathize with your goals, I think your method is having the opposite effect of your intended outcome.

I say this, knowing it’s true, and still doing the arguing online thing anyway.

  • Hey, contrasts! Sleep when you can, the first night is a delightful little prank your baby is playing on you.

Night 2 is when it really starts.

Anyway, if you’re the mom, rest! If your the partner, advocate the absolute shit out of your partner. Get lactation support early and frequently. Guard access to the room so she can heal, and don’t worry about what any family thinks if you’re not 100% comfortable with a visit just yet. If there’s a nursery available at the hospital, make use of it. I want you to read that again. MAKE. USE. OF. IT. Let the nurses take a night shift so you can get some uninterrupted sleep.

  • They’re not really trying to do anything. They’re trying to get venture capital money. The more impressive and revolutionary the blender render is, the more likely they are to get some fat, unsecured VC money. Then they’ll cash out and move on to the next thing.

It’s a grift. They just need the poors to be excited about their bullshit to convince someone with money that there’s money to be made with their bullshit.
