    Yeah i’il keep using mastodon and bluesky, also, they already have investors so it’s dead at birth for me

      Bluesky is also owned by a corporation and, like Twitter, could sell to a fascist billionaire whenever they find it profitable to do so.

      X vs Bluesky is a great microcosm of American team-sports politics. Mastodon is something actually new.

        Yeah that’s true but perfect is the enemy of good, Mastodon isn’t gaining much traction so my hope is that at least we can get a federated protocol, whatever it is

          Perfect is the enemy of good, but so is the desire for convenience.

          Mastodon gains less traction because it doesn’t have an advertising budget, unlike Bluesky. Because Bluesky is owned by a corporation.

          Is Bluesky federated? I thought it wasn’t. Tumblr also said they were going to, but then just… didn’t.

      Launching with the immediate intent for profit screams either a scam (Especially with Musk being kind to give up the name, massive red flag).
