X vs Bluesky is a great microcosm of American team-sports politics. Mastodon is something actually new.

Mastodon gains less traction because it doesn’t have an advertising budget, unlike Bluesky. Because Bluesky is owned by a corporation. Is Bluesky federated? I thought it wasn’t. Tumblr also said they were going to, but then just… didn’t.
