Everything I do is mostly with VMs, the hypervisor is diskless pxe booting off the SAN. I’ve been cleaning up my lab, it used to be a plank of wood https://discuss.online/post/44690398

There is a nanokvm hanging off the hypervisor (rs232,atx header, hid) which makes remote rebuilds quite painless. I love my inexpensive nanokvm.

    vlans don’t route to each other

    Well, yeah. VLANs work at layer 2. What you are routing is the subnet you assigned to each one.

    I just have never heard the term “cross routing” in my 30 years of networking.
