    That’s super cool. Where is a good source to get samples of different minerals and rocks? - besides going outside, or eBay, or those overpriced geode stores in Banff. What do hobbiests do?

      You can get bags of mixed rocks for tumbling (but you don’t have to tumble them) for pretty cheap. If you search “rocks for tumbling” you can find tons of suppliers. I find it cheaper and better to get them directly from suppliers. Most companies that make rock tumblers also sell rocks.

      I stop by little rock shops in small towns while on road trips or AliExpress (I would argue it’s more ethical than Amazon at this point, plus you are not buying fast fashion, you are buying rocks).
