    “the opinions of leftists”

I get plenty of those, as I am one and interact among the rational segment of leftism. What I don’t waste my time on is fake-leftist shill accounts peddling disinformation on behalf of the imperial fascist financial oligarchy that is the Russian Federation.

So nice try trying to monopolize leftism, but it’s not working. Go peddle your caricature elsewhere.

Give me one single example from history when your strain of “rational leftism” has ever accomplished anything.

You wanna go there? What in history have tankies ever “accomplished?”

MLK was a pretty rational socialist, by the way. So was FDR.

You have, what, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot?

My God I’ve never seen someone who knows so little blab so confidently.

Lenin took the USSR from a collection of poor, illiterate quasi-feudal states to a country that went toe to toe with the US in science and technology, and surpassed it in basic quality of life, achieving levels of racial and gender equality unheard of at the time – all in a matter of decades and with a fraction of the resources, while being attacked constantly.

Stalin won WW2 (80% of Nazi soldiers were killed by the Soviets), while Churchill gave speeches and starved India, and the US twiddled their thumbs hoping they’d just get to do nothing and win.

Mao I don’t know as much about but I do know that modern China (the China that has raised millions out of poverty in record time and is the sole reason why global charts around poverty and related stats have not leveled off or gone downwards) would not exist without him. You can moan about Deng’s “opening up” being the reason for all that but Chinese themselves will tell you that you can’t have one without the other. Plenty of other countries “opened up” only to have their insides extracted.

Pol Pot was a US asset. He was roughly as much of a communist as Hitler.

MLK and FDR were not socialists in any way. It’s clear you don’t know what that word means at all. When MLK actually started conecting the dots and started asking economic questions, he was assassinated.
