It’s just a trend, in the early nineties (maybe late eighties) every metal band with a new album had a black and white photo of the band, each member wearing sunglasses and a doofus smile.

I’d say getting sick increases your risk of a stroke or heart attack in general, but I would also expect that to be the first thing that’s checked.
