4·3 days agoI hear ya. I have never had good luck with Scribus despite several dedicated tries. Still kind of learning Inkscape; I mentioned Krita instead of GIMP because it has full CMYK support. Depends on what your needs are I guess! 🙂

3·3 days agoAs far as InDesign—I don’t think it will probably ever have 1:1 feature parity, but LibreOffice Writer has recently gotten some new features that allow for more fine-tuned word and letter spacing as well as glyph scaling. A paragraph composer is on the horizon as well. There’s also Inkscape and Krita, but I’m guessing you probably already know about those…
EDIT: Also agitating for optical margin alignment on Writer; will see how that goes…

1·4 months ago‘HO, Diomed, well met! Do you sup with Glaucus tonight?’ said a young man of small stature, who wore his tunic in those loose and effeminate folds which proved him to be a gentleman and a coxcomb.
‘Alas, no! dear Clodius; he has not invited me,’ replied Diomed, a man of portly frame and of middle age. ‘By Pollux, a scurvy trick! for they say his suppers are the best in Pompeii’.
