@[email protected] The closest example is Zoox. They did the same exact thing Tesla did and eventually had to apply for an exemption from the NHTSA. So no, this is not part of being evaluated with other robo-cabs and yes something bad did happen when Tesla ignored the precedent set by Zoox’s case and decided to self certify anyway despite NHTSA forcing Zoox to back off from a very similar self-certification.
