Most of these incidents were horribly unsuccessful, I don’t know how this proves your point?

I can use a hammer to kill a person. A suicidal person can buy a rope to hang themselves. Of course an AI is different in that it almost seems conscious and like its talking to you when its not. I’m not a lawyer or the company in question. But I don’t think this warrants banning the entire technology

Please don’t give Trump a reason to suspend midterms or to use the military against his own people. The protestors stand no chance once violence leads to Trump getting the military involved. Protests don’t work instantly but Trump and ICE are seen very unfavorably by the populous. Don’t let anyone tell you protests have to effect. I guess the Maidan protests in Kyiv ended up turning violent after what the government did attacking protesters and that was a success. But people need to be in unity. I fear the US is too polarized. We will hopefully all see the end to outlive these petty autocrats. The checks and balances weren’t as strong as people thought they were, thats for certain

Your president is corrupt thats for sure. Any government cleaning up after Trump has the work cut out for them. Trump himself will probably never face proper justice as he is too old and won’t live forever. Its very obvious how problematic the things are in the US. So rights need to be defended and political grassroots movements formed. Currently there is a lot of corruption but I hope this will not go all unpunished.

No that is not what I was saying. I’m saying the system is broken and the root cause. Fix the problem by changing the system, not by murdering random individuals that are part of the current system. That only causes more pain and suffering

There is a reason you shouldn’t trade individual stocks if you’re unwilling to research a bit at least. If you trade individual stocks without it it becomes basically gambling. I’m not laughing at the ordinary people losing money, but I also don’t feel very bad for them in particular.

Internally the EU has been a strong diplomatic success. I’m showing that violence shouldn’t be the only option for change because its not. Comparing civil infighting with state wars was very arbitrary to begin with

I mean i wish everyone well. I fear that violence will not lead to the desired outcome. Once violence is normalized and things run their way the cat is out the box. And its possible you can’t contain things. People online like here are pretty radicalized. Many speak out but most don’t act for the fear of repercussions. I think change takes time and effort. I believe at least some Jan 6th protestors believed what they were doing was right and justified. The way people are reacting with my calls for levelheadedness makes me think they are another side of the same radical coin.

I doubt any judge or lawyer would seriously argue that is legal

NYC populous is not the average voting population tho. The US party system is broken in a way it only allows for two parties to emerge. I think primaries allow for a more granular choice for the average person tho. The Kennedy quote is true, but I’m not giving up that peaceful change is impossible.

This argument is obviously in bad faith. I’m for prosecuting criminals and rapists in the Epstein files. But generalizing all Tech CEOs to rape kids is bit of a stretch

The irony of “restoring a functioning state of law” by going self-judicial and killing people. The mental gymnasics are insane.

Nobody should have to tolerate lawlessness. CEOs and companies have more resources in court but it doesn’t mean they are above the law or anything

The state has a monopoly on violence which it should use within accordance to law to uphold the law and democracy. Self-justice is a huge problem in that regard

I’m not against integrating socialist policies nor praising capitalism am I? I’m just against violence and murder especially.

Idealism can be anchored in reality. No principle truly exists unless in the heads of us all. You’re a kid for wanting to kill people over disagreements. Of course I knew you’d at some point insult me personally, I’m on lemmy after all. Most concepts don’t exist in reality, companies and money don’t exist in reality. Countries don’t exist in reality. Except when enough people believe in it it becomes real. But thats above your pay grade. You don’t get it do you? Get lost. I see democracy eroding every fucking day. And I am doing my part to stop it (I obviously can’t save it myself). Again I believe all the words have been spoken. Nothing left to say. Get lost.

Its an ideal we need to strive for. Protect and fight for democracy or lose it. Once you fight disagreements with extrajudicial means the stability erodes for everyone. I don’t care if people call me idealist. If you follow the categorical imperative its pretty clear honestly. You guys just want it the (supposed) easy way. But thats not the proper way. And it also won’t be easy as with violence factions arise. I country in which violence is a normal means to resolve disagreement will arise. You know how Jan 6th rioters wanted to hang Pence? And actually killed officers in service? This type of crooked behavior will also become more common

If you say so it must be true. The guy basically comparing every rich person with a nazi and calling for violence against them. But no, I’m the brainwashed one. Man what am I doing on this platform. The election system in the US is fucked up tho, I’ll give you that. Your country voted Trump twice. How dumb can an electorate be? I’m european but have been a year in the US. The raw form of capitalism america employs is very problematic and not in the interest of the general population. Killing people until the system changes is not a societal movement. Thats still called terrorism. You guys have a constitution and a democracy that protects you. Your crooked government abuses the system but it can still be fixed. Killing CEOs won’t fix the root cause. I understand the term Class War in the US context a bit more, but it doesn’t need violence. You know who used violence? The Jan. 6th protestors. I bet the people on the side use similar arguments for their crooked ideology. From the outside I see this polarization and unwillingness to work with one another as the very breaking point of a country. The once oh so exceptional United States of America. If the violence leads to a civil war chances are the outcome won’t be better than what was. People need to reach across the aisle. MLK is the one who lead the mass movement for rights of black people not Malcom X. Its always very easy to tell the other side they are uninformed or uneducated when you run out of arguments. I hope and believe you guys can still salvage your democracy. If you take up arms and violence, the other side will always reciprocate, remember.

Haha lmao I know right. I knew I would be comment-bombed and downvoted for this. Its just annoying since I want lemmy and the fediverse to go to a more general in public. I mostly avoid politics on lemmy but this is a tech community. I quit most traditional social media and reddit since I like the idea of the fediverse a lot and open-source software in general as well as self-hosting. I think the algorithms and ad targetting is a big issue for me on there. Its just when I see threads like these I try to apply at least one voice of reason. So others know this is not the supposed normal (unless on lemmy of course). Just like this platform has a tankie problem.
If the tipping point was reached where there is no way to revert with non-violent means then a systematic approach could be logical. But i don’t think that point has been crossed.
