I thought I’d answered it in a previous comment about Bentleys and Players. The last time I read anything about this was John Higgs’ recent book, Love and Let Die (the book about the Beatles and Bond). In the past books like Kingsley Amis’ Bond Dossier has covered stuff like this. It’s a long time since I read anything about Fleming and I’m not a Bond scholar so don’t have this stuff indexed in some zettelkasten in a shoebox, sorry.
Maybe read a few books and rely less on Google (which is an atrocious search engine these days). If you look over this thread I’ve replied a couple of times. I’m not a Bond scholar and replied earlier from memory. If you are as angry about this as you appear (why? One example is that Bond drove a Bentley in the first six novels and then Fleming changed it to an Aston Martin for Goldfinger. The most famous is Bond smoking Players Cigarettes where there was advertising inserted into copies of Thunderball. The movies did much more to include product placement, though.
It was also because Fleming was paid by the companies to use their product names.
Fleming was paid for product placement in the Bond novels in the way that tv and movies do now.
