I read the book. It was too much like the reality white Christian Nationalists dream of to be enjoyable.

I know the US was never the good guys they like to pretend to be, but 15 years ago if a serious movie was made portraying leadership like the US government it would be considered far too over the top and entirely unrealistic. You could only have made a movie with this level of evil as satire or comedy, except that now this is the real world and it’s not fucking funny because they’re trying to figure out how to take the whole damn globe down with them.

People are not gods. Checkmate.
