Open flames are not a thing in lab settings. It’s too damn dangerous, would interfere with positive/negative pressure spaces, and sterility is now maintained with sterile single use items.

It should be about 41x41 inches when done. I try to stay around 40x40 inches so these can be used as wheelchair or lap blankets for my donation group. The group does ask for twin sized projects too for things like dialysis or hospice but I find that this acrylic yarn gets extremely heavy at that size.
