A great mother. Can you imagine carrying around a few dozen babies until they are big enough to take care of themselves? This Rabida Rabidosa has lost a leg and a pedipalp.

Cheers to all the solo parents out there 🍻

Also I’m sure there’s a few people who think their mom eating their dad would’ve been a good thing so they didn’t need to meet him.

That is not common in wolf spiders. There is some cannibalism between siblings, but usually only when food is rare.

And one wolf spider Allocosa brasiliensis, is actually a reverse example: Occasionally males eat the females.

They aren’t harmful to people and they eat pest insects - great garden buddies, if you find one inside it’s lost… Pick it up in a cup and take it outside to the grass somewhere.

We have similar relatives of theirs in Australia, the most common one we simply call the ‘garden spider’ or garden wolf spider.

    This one is cute <3

We would’ve appreciated spoilering the image cuz many beings have “arachnaphobia” (the fear of spiders)

And we dislike some of the comments on this thread about violence against them, even if it was a “joke”
