lemmy is federated. this means two people on two different instances can talk to each other as if they were on the same instance.
multiple instances have websites they administer. these admins can install custom user interfaces to make it look/feel different from other instances. one of those custom interfaces is “tesseract”.
the lead developer for tesseract had a file obfuscated and hidden that has a list of communities, instances, and more importantly users. this list would hide/remove content from these communities, instances, and users based entirely on the whims of the lead developer. this means if you were reading my comment from one of these instances that uses tesseract, you wouldn’t see my comment because I am on the list.
the developer in question is @[email protected] you can direct any questions to them about it.
@[email protected] i am a socialist that hate rich people and condemn your daddy Trump, Epstein and all the crew for raping childrens, i already said fuck the rich? Fuck Israel too and Russia
And centrists don’t exist, Mr enlightened
TL;DR: add me on that shitty list i don’t want your users to see my comments and posts
Do y’all think it will work? Do i have to be more reactionary and maybe add a Kirk meme?
To add to what others are saying, your instance does not support Tesseract anyway, though if you read your instance sidebar text it points to Photon & Alexandrite frontends as options if you wanted to change the way that Lemmy looks to you (and if you use a browser rather than 3rd-party app).
Can someone ELI5 for me? I’m on Lemmy, but I’m not a techy person lol

Aww, I’m not on the list. Is this a personal failing of mine? Am I just too agreeable?
just call out @[email protected] and tell him he’s a fascist shitlord that deserves to walk 5000 miles across a sea of Legos.

Maybe something cute about how it’s nice that he died doing what he loved; public executions that children should be forced to watch.
Then again, it’s been so long since he kirked the bucket, it’s kind of nice to just let him remain an unimportant and forgotten thing of the past.
I see your little hunblebrag.
