      I guess I should have included that I’m originally from a shithole state myself (Louisiana) and defintely notna coastal elite. Unless you consider the dirty coast elite (yes, it’s a known nickname we use).

        I’ll admit to being the one that submitted the report. Tbh, your comment wasnt nearly as bad as OP above you, and I probably got kinda heavy with the report button by including your (as Davel pointed out) slightly ill-informed comment in with the above post.

        As a southerner, I find online spaces like this rarely recognize bigotry against the southern US and rural areas. I’ve had this conversation a handful of times on Lemmy over the years, but as a former Louisianan, I’m sure you’ve heard your fair share of “do you wear shoes?” and the like.
