Can I recommend some music like Sigur Ros or something instrumental that involves less bright light in your face hammering the part of your brain that controls the “its daytime, stay awake” response.

I may be biased and ignorant cause I need pitch black and at most a fan one roon away to even run the chance of getting to sleep. Saying that if I have anything caffeinated after about 5pm I’m awake until 1am with my brain trying to make me kms, so I at least know how that one feels.

Thank you. I have tried Sigur Ros actually. I do prefer chiller content and darker if I can. It just needs to be something to distract and give my brain something to gnaw on

The subject matter is less important than the fact it’s beaming light into your eyes <1m away.

Even if you’ve got it on low blue light mode you’re still putting your brain through the kind of thing that was used as psychological torture by shady agencies since the 60s - keeping your brain active and exhausting yourself into unconsciousness instead of allowing your body the time to enter actual sleep is what’s making it gnaw on itself :/

Read an actual paper book instead of using a screen, get yourself into a habit of making a warm and sweet but not caffeinated drink so your body gets the signal of ‘now is the relaxing time’ at a regular time every night, and your mind will catch up to the routine.

Also dont underestimate the power of a decent meal a couple hours before going to bed (avoid eating directly before, because that’s a recipe for stomach pain and a bad time)

        Speaking of recipes

Potion of go the fuck to sleep
