Looking to make an everyday carry sewing kit that I can have in my backpack for emergency sewing jobs. Other than a needle, thread, and scissors of some kind, any other suggested items and why they would be needed?
Note they are talking about waxing the thread to make it easier to sew with, not just to make it easier to thread the needle. A waxed thread pulls through fabric easier and tangles less often.
Don’t need anything really special, just a bit of bees wax or paraffin was will do.
Oh I saw that as well and forgot to mention that. For a kit that is for emergency repairs and will live in a backpack I don’t think having wax is the best idea. I will definitely try it out at home though.
You can also prewax the thread if you don’t plan on taking a whole spool.
