Why are people so hateful assholes? Why are people always shamed victims? Why can’t we use words for caring. If I say mental disability, I am not making a judgement of worth. I am getting to know someone’s limits and if I must accomodate. The only reason I would care about someone’s sexuality is if I was interested in pursuing a relationship or kindly turning down advances. I am also interested in genetics and neuroscience, so I would be interested in what is different physiologically. Again, not in judgement but in scientific curiosity.
Now on the science, it does not seem to be a confirmed genetic trait to be gay. My thought is it is the way the brain assembles during development. The recipe for male and female are in all of us. It would be odd if there wasn’t a variety of results. There are so many variables in the processes of reproduction and development that mutation occurs regularly, and tons of those are not simply genetic. Most of them are harmless or manageable. The ones that are harmful are where the word disorder is useful for communicating limits. Being gay is harmless, and probably not even mental. There might even be multiple reasons homosexuality develops in a person. For example, seizures can be from genetics, homeostastic embalance or trauma.
It is sad that people are victims and people are hateful. It is horrible that in current times voice is given unashamedly to the selfish assholes on both sides. Historically, people have been made victims. Currently it looks more like people are competing on who is the bigger victim, overshadowing any real talk on the real issues, let alone compromise or find a solution to anything. If this image was from the 90’s I’d be impressed and proud. These days my mind makes me wonder if they are making a show for their inner circle or are antagonzing a reaction from their opponents. I hate that question and hope we find a way to rebuild these ruins of a civilation.
