He did not know he was raping Nikki because there were two Nikki’s sharing the same body, and the one actively controlling the body consented.

Consenting while being incapable of consenting is still rape. If you have sex with someone that is drunk/high/intoxicated, and they say yes while under an influence, that is not consent. Having sex requires continual and ongoing consent, or else it is absolutely rape. In this case, Bear knows the wish has influenced her.

The date scene is only the 2nd moment she shows of any odd behavior, and that behavior is still relatively mild and within the realm of normal humans being human. The horror lies in the dramatic irony that we, the audience, know that is not the real Nikki while Bear does not.

Bear definitely knows the wish worked at this point. But, let’s pretend he didn’t: She is acting weird, beyond what would be considered normal, and he absolutely is exploiting her weird behavior to have sex with her. That is still not consent.

To repeat - the horror lies in the dramatic irony that we, the audience, know that is not the real Nikki while Bear does not.

Goddamn, you’d look like a real fucking moron if the director flat out stated that Bear definitely knew that Nikki was acting weird as a result of his wish.

Oh look! I found this quote from the director on the floor, it also says here that you’re a dumbass?

When he asks her do you love me more than anyone in the world, that’s very obviously the exact verbiage of what he said, ‘I wish she loved me more than anyone in the world.’ So that was the confirmation that he needed that this is 100% the result of the wish. And I think he’s in denial. I don’t think he wants to believe that that’s the truth. I think it’s a lot easier for him to just believe that she really does like him, but clearly this is not making sense, for her to just all of a sudden be obsessed with him like this.

So, like, he even knows he’s raping her. He can be in denial, but being in denial requires you to know the truth and pretend it’s not true. Bear is a rapist, and he knows it. And he does not show remorse for it. Btw, took me two seconds to google that.

But, the pièce de résistance is that when she says to kill her, he just asks if being with him is so bad. That’s fucked up villainous shit. That leaves no room for him to be anything else. He’s the villain.
