    Tell that to every one of my installs.

    Literally every time I try a distro, I have to hope the NVIDIA drivers download and actually work. Then I have to hope the distro actually switches between it and the integrated GPU.

      uhm… you don’t have to hope…? You can literally check which driver is installed. You can even install preferable driver version via your package manager and delete mesa drivers if you don’t want your system to ever use the integrated gpu.

        Meanwhile on my Windows PC the correct Nvidia drivers always download and work right out of the box.

        For Linux that varies distro from distro.
