OpenAI and Anthropic have pressed Washington privately to restrict Chinese open-weight models, according to five people close to the talks, days after both sat out an industry letter defending them. OpenAI signed on Friday evening and Google followed Saturday, leaving Anthropic alone outside.

        Oh that rings a bell now. It sounds like they won’t be super fast for serious local work but they would be an interesting alt to AMD’s unified memory platform.
